Mexican Check Valve Price Hits Lowest Point at $16.2 per kg After Two Months of Decline

Mexico Check Valve Import Price in June 2023

In June 2023, the price of check valves imported into Mexico stood at $16,188 per ton (CIF), experiencing a decline of -41.6% compared to the previous month. The import price showed a significant decrease overall. The highest price was observed in July 2022 at $32,216 per ton, but from August 2022 to June 2023, import prices remained at a lower level.

There were notable price differences depending on the country of origin, with the United States having the highest price at $35,932 per ton, while Germany had one of the lowest prices at $2,254 per ton.

China experienced a slight decrease in prices (-0.4%) from June 2022 to June 2023, while other major suppliers saw their prices decline.

In June 2023, Mexico imported 1.2K tons of check valves for pipes, boiler shells, tanks, and vats, marking a 72% increase and continuing the upward trend for the second consecutive month after two months of decline. The total imports showed a remarkable increase from June 2022 to June 2023, with an average monthly growth rate of +5.7%. However, there were noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on June 2023 figures, imports grew by +120.5% compared to April 2023, reaching the peak and likely to continue growing in the near future.

The value of check valve imports in June 2023 was estimated at $19M. The total import value had an average monthly growth rate of +1.4% from June 2022 to June 2023, with relatively stable fluctuations during the analyzed period. The most significant growth rate was observed in July 2022, with a monthly increase of 31%. From August 2022 to June 2023, import growth remained at a slightly lower rate.

Germany, the United States, and China were the main suppliers of check valve imports to Mexico, accounting for a combined 90% share of total imports.

From June 2022 to June 2023, Germany showed the highest rate of growth in terms of purchases among the main suppliers, with a CAGR of +26.9%, while other leading suppliers had more modest growth rates.

In terms of value, the United States was the largest supplier, accounting for 55% of total imports, followed by China with a 14% share. Italy held the third position with a 6% share. From June 2022 to June 2023, the United States had an average monthly growth rate of +2.0%, while China and Italy had rates of +0.9% and +2.4% per month, respectively.
