Bottled Water Price in France Decreases Slightly to $268 per Thousand Liters

In June 2023, the price of bottled water in France dropped marginally to $268 per thousand liters, representing a decrease of -3.5% compared to the previous month. Over the past twelve months, the price experienced an average monthly growth rate of +2.0%. The highest price was observed in September 2022 with a monthly increase of 22%. However, from March 2023 to June 2023, the export prices remained at a lower level. The United States had the highest price for bottled water imports from France at $909 per thousand liters, while Belgium had one of the lowest prices at $122 per thousand liters. The most significant rate of price growth from June 2022 to June 2023 was for supplies to the United States (+3.4%), while other major destinations experienced more modest growth rates. The export volume of bottled water from France reached 425 million liters in June 2023, showing a significant increase of 16% compared to the previous month. The total exports had a mild expansion from June 2022 to June 2023, with an average monthly growth rate of +1.0%. Both in volume and value terms, the exports experienced fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The main product types exported from France were mineral or aerated waters (262 million liters) and non-mineral or non-aerated waters (163 million liters). Belgium was the largest destination for bottled water exports from France, followed by Germany and the UK. The highest growth rate in export volume was recorded for mineral or aerated waters (+3.3%) from June 2022 to June 2023. The value of the exports to the UK showed the highest growth rate (+5.3%), while other major markets had more modest growth rates.
