Spain Bicycle Import Price in April 2023

The price of bicycles in Spain reached $343 per unit (CIF, Spain) in April 2023, showing a decrease of 22.8% compared to the previous month. Although the import price had a relatively flat trend overall, there was a significant growth in March 2023 with a 32% increase month-to-month. However, the import price quickly declined in the following month, dropping from $444K per thousand units.

The prices of bicycles varied depending on the country of origin. The Netherlands had the highest price at $793 per unit, while Sri Lanka had one of the lowest prices at $57.9 per unit.

Between April 2022 and April 2023, the Netherlands experienced the highest rate of price growth at 4.6% among the major suppliers, while other suppliers saw more modest growth rates.

Spain Bicycle Imports

In April 2023, bicycle imports in Spain decreased by 2.3% to 40K units. This decline marked the fifth consecutive month of falling imports after three months of growth. Overall, there has been a noticeable contraction in imports. The highest growth rate was recorded in September 2022 with an 85% increase month-to-month. Imports peaked at 104K units in November 2022, but from December 2022 to April 2023, imports remained at a lower level.

In terms of value, bicycle imports in Spain dropped to $14M in April 2023. Imports have continued to indicate a significant contraction. The highest growth rate in value was recorded in September 2022 with a 61% increase month-to-month. Imports peaked at 26M units in June 2022, but from July 2022 to April 2023, there was no recovery in import momentum.

Spain Bicycle Imports by Country

The main suppliers of bicycle imports to Spain were Italy (9.3K units), Portugal (7.4K units), and the Netherlands (4.5K units), which together accounted for a 53% share of total imports. Romania, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Poland lagged behind with a combined share of 29%. Bangladesh recorded the highest increase in imports with a CAGR of 53.5% between April 2022 and April 2023, while other suppliers had more modest growth rates.

In terms of value, the largest bicycle suppliers to Spain were the Netherlands ($3.6M), Portugal ($2.5M), and Italy ($1.8M), making up a combined share of 58% of total imports. Romania, Poland, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka accounted for an additional 10%. Among the main suppliers, Bangladesh saw the highest growth rate in import value with a CAGR of 48.6% during the review period, while other suppliers had more modest growth rates.
