Decrease of 9% in Polycarbonate Price in Spain, Averaging $3,211 per Ton

In July 2023, the price of polycarbonate in Spain reached $3,211 per ton, showing a 9.3% decrease compared to the previous month. The export price exhibited a relatively flat trend overall, with the most significant growth rate recorded in September 2022 with a 19% increase month-to-month. November 2022 marked the peak of export prices at $4,121 per ton, but from December 2022 to July 2023, the prices remained at a slightly lower level. The average prices varied significantly across major foreign markets, with Turkey having the highest price at $4,631 per ton while the Czech Republic had one of the lowest prices at $2,819 per ton in July 2023. From July 2022 to July 2023, supplies to Turkey experienced the most notable price growth of 1.8%, while other major destinations witnessed more modest growth rates. In terms of exports, Spain saw a remarkable expansion in polycarbonate exports in July 2023, reaching 13,000 tons, a 10% increase compared to the previous month. However, overall exports showed a noticeable decline. The most rapid growth was observed in January 2023 when exports increased by 52% month-to-month. The value of polycarbonate exports slightly decreased to $43 million in July 2023. In terms of export destinations, China, India, and Germany were the primary countries receiving polycarbonate exports from Spain, collectively accounting for a 45% share. Sweden showed the highest growth rate among the main destinations, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 20.1% from July 2022 to July 2023. The largest markets for polycarbonate exported from Spain in terms of value were Germany, China, and India, comprising a 38% share of total exports. Sweden exhibited the highest growth rate in the value of exports with a CAGR of 16.2%.
