UK Acetic Acid Salts Prices Reach Lowest Point at $4,365 per Ton

UK Acetic Acid Salts Export Prices in March 2023

In March 2023, the price of UK acetic acid salts was $4,365 per ton (FOB, United Kingdom), showing a -5.6% decline compared to the previous month. Overall, the export price continues to demonstrate a slight contraction. The highest growth rate was observed in April 2022 with a 25% month-on-month increase. The export price reached its peak at $7,298 per ton in August 2022, but failed to regain momentum from September 2022 to March 2023.

Prices varied significantly by the country of destination, with the Netherlands having the highest price of $8,748 per ton, while the average price for exports to Ireland was one of the lowest at $1,971 per ton.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable price growth was seen in supplies to the Netherlands (+14.4%), while other major destinations experienced more modest growth rates.

UK Acetic Acid Salts Exports

In March 2023, overseas shipments of UK acetic acid salts decreased by -2.3% to 283 tons, marking the second consecutive month of decline after two months of growth. Overall, exports showed a significant slump. The highest growth rate was recorded in September 2022 with a 39% increase compared to the previous month.

In terms of value, UK acetic acid salts exports declined to $1.2M (IndexBox estimates) in March 2023, indicating a deep downturn. The most significant growth rate was seen in January 2023 with a 31% month-on-month increase.

UK Acetic Acid Salts Exports by Country

The Netherlands, France, and the United States were the main destinations for UK acetic acid salts exports, accounting for a combined 51% share of total exports. Ireland, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and Switzerland followed closely, making up an additional 41% share.

From March 2022 to March 2023, Sweden showed the highest rate of shipment growth among the main countries of destination, with a CAGR of +24.2%. Other leaders experienced more modest growth rates.

In terms of value, the Netherlands remained the key foreign market for UK acetic acid salts exports, constituting 42% of total exports. The United States ranked second with an 11% share, followed by France at 9.3%.

From March 2022 to March 2023, the average monthly export growth rate to the Netherlands was +5.5%. The other major destinations experienced average monthly export growth rates of -4.0% to the United States and +9.7% to France.
