Turkey's Gym and Fitness Equipment Import Prices Experience Modest Increase to $4,753 Per Ton

In March 2023, the price of gym and fitness equipment in Turkey reached $4,753 per ton, showing a 2.7% rise compared to the previous month. However, the import price trend has been declining overall. The largest growth rate was observed in October 2022, with a 44% increase month-on-month. Despite reaching record highs of $6,795 per ton in July 2022, import prices remained lower from August 2022 to March 2023. Differences in average prices were significant among the major supplying countries. Italy had the highest price at $25,094 per ton, while China had a price of $2,828 per ton in March 2023. Italy saw the most notable price growth from March 2022 to March 2023, with an increase of 2.6%. Gym and fitness equipment imports into Turkey increased significantly to 782 tons in March 2023, a rise of 9.4% compared to the previous month. However, overall import trends remained relatively flat. The highest growth rate occurred in August 2022, with a 118% increase month-on-month. In terms of value, gym and fitness equipment imports reached $3.7M in March 2023. Despite this increase, overall imports experienced a significant decline. The largest growth rate was recorded in June 2022, with a 48% increase month-on-month. China was the largest supplier of gym and fitness equipment to Turkey, accounting for 86% of total imports with 671 tons in March 2023. Italy was the second-largest supplier with 29 tons, followed by Hungary with 21 tons. From March 2022 to March 2023, the average monthly growth rate of volume from China was relatively modest. Italy experienced a slight decline of 0.3% per month, while Hungary saw a monthly growth rate of 2.7%. In terms of value, China accounted for 51% of total imports to Turkey with $1.9M. Italy ranked second with a 19% share and $721K, followed by Slovakia with a 4.9% share. From March 2022 to March 2023, the average monthly growth rate of value from China was -1.4%. Italy experienced an average monthly growth rate of 2.3%, while Slovakia saw a decline of 3.4%.
