Wooden Office Furniture Import Price in Australia Decreases to $58.3 per Unit in June 2023

In June 2023, the price of wooden office furniture in Australia dropped to $58.3 per unit, showing a decrease of 5.2% compared to the previous month. The import price experienced a relatively flat trend pattern, with the highest growth rate recorded in March 2023, witnessing a 39% increase month-on-month. However, from September 2022 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum after reaching a peak of $65.1 per unit in August 2022. Different major supplying countries had varying average prices in June 2023, with Malaysia having the highest price at $65.5 per unit and China at $51.1 per unit. Malaysia also achieved the most notable growth rate in terms of prices from June 2022 to June 2023, recording a 3.4% increase. Wooden office furniture imports into Australia significantly declined to 63K units in June 2023, showing a decrease of 28.9% compared to the previous month. The imports followed a relatively flat trend pattern, with the most notable growth rate occurring in May 2023, witnessing a monthly increase of 71%. However, imports remained lower from February 2023 to June 2023, after reaching a peak of 112K units in January 2023. In terms of value, wooden office furniture imports in June 2023 saw a remarkable reduction to $3.7M. Similar to the volume trend, imports showed a relatively flat pattern, with the highest growth rate recorded in May 2023, at a 65% increase month-on-month. China was the leading supplier of wooden office furniture to Australia in June 2023, accounting for a 91% share of total imports with 57K units. Compared to other suppliers, China's imports were over ten times higher than those from Poland, the second-largest supplier with 2.1K units. When considering the value of imports, China also dominated, constituting 80% of total imports with $2.9M. Poland held the second position with a 5.8% share. From June 2022 to June 2023, China's value of imports showed a decrease of 1.2% on average each month, while Poland recorded an average monthly increase of 12.4% and Malaysia had a 1.7% average monthly increase.
