Record-Breaking $5.6M Carbon Dioxide Imports Surge in France in June 2023

After experiencing a decline for two consecutive months, the import of carbon dioxide in France from abroad saw a significant increase of 78% to reach 9.7K tons in June 2023. The trend pattern of imports has remained relatively flat over the reviewed period, with a peak reached in June 2023, suggesting further growth in the near future. The value of carbon dioxide imports surged to $5.6M in June 2023, according to estimates from IndexBox. The overall import value has witnessed an average monthly growth rate of +2.6% from June 2022 to June 2023, although certain months have experienced noticeable fluctuations. The most substantial growth rate was observed in December 2022 when imports saw a 34% increase compared to the previous month. The main suppliers of carbon dioxide imports to France were the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany, which collectively accounted for 94% of the total imports. The Netherlands was the largest supplier, making up 69% of imports, followed by Belgium with a 16% share and Germany with 3.6%. The average monthly growth rate in terms of value from the Netherlands was +1.6%, while Belgium showed a growth rate of +11.1% and Germany experienced a decline of -2.8%. The import price of carbon dioxide in France was $579 per ton in June 2023, indicating a decrease of -26.1% compared to the previous month. The import price showed a mild increase over the last twelve months at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. However, there were notable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period, and in June 2023, the import price dropped significantly by -26.1%. The highest import price was recorded from the Netherlands at $754 per ton, while the lowest was from Germany at $204 per ton. Belgium had the most notable price growth of +9.6% from June 2022 to June 2023, while other major suppliers showed more modest growth rates.
