Decline in Price of Festive Articles in Poland by 5%

Poland Festive Articles Export Price in April 2023

In April 2023, the price of festive articles in Poland stood at $17,829 per ton (FOB, Poland), experiencing a decrease of -5.5% compared to the previous month. However, the export price displayed a relatively stable pattern over the reviewed period. The most significant growth was observed in December 2022, with a month-to-month increase of 57%. The export price reached its peak at $18,865 per ton in March 2023, but then declined in the following month.

There were notable variations in average prices for different overseas markets. Italy had the highest price at $33,388 per ton, while Nigeria had one of the lowest prices at $2,681 per ton in April 2023.

During the period from April 2022 to April 2023, the most significant price increase was recorded for exports to Italy (+7.1%), whereas other major destinations experienced more modest growth rates.

Poland Festive Articles Exports

In April 2023, the volume of overseas shipments of festive or carnival articles from Poland decreased by -26.7% to 117 tons, marking the second consecutive month of decline after two months of growth. Overall, exports showed a slight reduction. The highest growth rate was observed in July 2022, with a month-to-month increase of 48%.

In terms of value, festive articles exports experienced a sharp decline to $2.1M in April 2023 (IndexBox estimates). Over the reviewed period, exports slightly decreased. The most substantial growth rate occurred in October 2022, with a month-to-month increase of 23%, reaching a peak of $4.1M. However, from November 2022 to April 2023, export growth failed to regain momentum.

Poland Festive Articles Exports by Country

The main destinations for festive articles exports from Poland were Germany (31 tons), Latvia (17 tons), and the Czech Republic (11 tons), which together accounted for a 50% share of total exports. Nigeria, Lithuania, Slovakia, the Netherlands, France, Denmark, Romania, Switzerland, the UK, and Italy lagged slightly behind, representing an additional 37% of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Slovakia had the most notable growth rate in terms of shipments, with a CAGR of +7.3%, while other leading countries exhibited more modest growth.

In terms of value, Germany remained the key foreign market for festive articles exports from Poland, comprising 38% of total exports. The Czech Republic held the second position in the ranking with a 7% share, followed by the Netherlands with a 6.7% share.

From April 2022 to April 2023, the average monthly growth rate in terms of value to Germany was relatively modest. Exports to other major destinations, such as the Czech Republic and the Netherlands, experienced average monthly rates of -1.1% and -2.4% respectively.
