Decrease in French Aluminium Hydroxide Price by 18%, Averaging $460 per Ton

In April 2023, the price of aluminium hydroxide in France dropped to $460 per ton, showing a decrease of 18.4% compared to the previous month. However, the import price experienced an overall increase. The growth rate was the highest in December 2022, with a 156% increase from the previous month, reaching a peak level of $1,199 per ton. From January to April 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum. Prices varied significantly depending on the country of origin, with the United States having the highest price at $3,086 per ton, while Brazil had one of the lowest prices at $278 per ton. Spain showed the most notable growth in prices from April 2022 to April 2023, with a 14.1% increase, while other major suppliers had more modest growth rates. After three months of growth, France's imports of aluminium hydroxide decreased by 3.7% to 27,000 tons in April 2023. The value of imports also fell significantly to $12 million in the same month. Brazil was the largest supplier of aluminium hydroxide to France, accounting for a 74% share of total imports. Greece and Germany were the second and third largest suppliers respectively, with a 3.7K tons and 2.1K tons share. Brazil showed relatively modest monthly growth rates in volume, while Greece and Germany had higher rates. In terms of value, Brazil, Germany, and the United States were the largest suppliers, together accounting for 83% of total imports. Greece had the highest growth rate in terms of import value, while the other leaders had more modest growth rates.
