Thailand Candied Fruit Export Price in May 2023

In May 2023, the price of candied fruit in Thailand was $3,617 per ton (FOB, Thailand), representing a 4.1% decrease compared to the previous month. Overall, the export price remained relatively stable, with the most significant increase occurring in March 2023 at 9.7% month-to-month. From September 2022 to May 2023, the export prices remained lower after reaching a peak of $3,998 per ton in August 2022.

Different countries showed noticeable price variations, with Canada having the highest price at $5,657 per ton and the United Arab Emirates having one of the lowest prices at $2,424 per ton.

During the period from May 2022 to May 2023, the price for exports to Canada experienced the most notable growth rate at 3.0%, while other major destinations had more modest growth rates.

Thailand Candied Fruit Exports

In May 2023, Thailand exported approximately 5.4K tons of candied fruits, representing a 39% increase compared to the previous month. Overall, export volume showed a relatively stable trend.

In terms of value, candied fruit exports reached $20M in May 2023, according to IndexBox estimates. Export values also showed a relatively flat trend pattern.

Thailand Candied Fruit Exports by Country

The United States was the main destination for candied fruit exports from Thailand, accounting for a 27% share of total exports. The volume sent to the United States was three times higher than the second major destination, China. The Netherlands held the third position with a 5.9% share.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the average monthly growth rate of exports to the United States was -4.1%. China experienced a monthly growth rate of 10.1%, while the Netherlands had a slight decline of 0.4% per month.

In terms of value, the United States comprised 31% of total exports, followed by Japan with a 6% share. The Netherlands ranked third with a 5.9% share.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the average monthly growth rate of export value to the United States was -3.9%. Japan had a monthly growth rate of 0.7%, while the Netherlands experienced a decline of 0.9% per month.
