Sharp Increase in Imports of Skate Products in Brazil Reaches $193K in July 2023

In July 2023, approximately 24K units of ice skates and roller skates were brought into Brazil through imports, marking a significant 92% rise compared to the previous month. However, overall, imports have been experiencing a substantial decline. The highest growth rate was observed in May 2023, with a month-to-month increase of 185%. Imports reached their peak at 158K units in September 2022, but from October 2022 to July 2023, they remained at a somewhat lower level.

By value, the imported skates witnessed a sharp surge, amounting to $193K (according to IndexBox estimates) in July 2023. However, imports showed a considerable downturn over the reviewed period. The most notable growth rate was recorded in February 2023, with a 136% increase compared to the previous month. The peak of imports occurred in September 2022, reaching 1.4M units, but from October 2022 to July 2023, imports remained at a relatively lower level.
